Credibility check was initiated when rate of pedestrian deaths exceeded rate of auto deaths. The report states that 76,000 pedestrians were killed in the last 15 years: 76,000/15 = 5,066.666666666666 . . . Should read “nearly 5,000 U.S. pedestrians die every YEAR”. Credibility check was initiated when rate of pedestrian deaths exceeded rate of auto deaths.
