Losing control of our streets as a consequence of privatizing public parking is really bad: we lose all opportunity to put the "parking lanes" into the design mix to reconfigure roads for cyclists, efficient/shared bus stops (consolidating DASH/Metro stops- something we'ved discussed at Downtown Street Standards), bump outs, mid-block ped crossings. I had not thought about that side effect. No deal should tie the City's hands to redesign its roads/streets. Whoa!
