Great article, Michael! Holding meetings that are by invitation only, that fail to reach out to those cyclists who have been involved with Metro issues for years is a slap in the face and shows not only disrespect to those who could help with transportation solutions but is also a big failure on Metro's part.

On the note of plastic bottles: it just shows you how far Metro still has to go. They are 20 years behind in all their thinking and their actions, so them disregarding cyclists is consistent with their character, showing just how incompetent they are.

METRO engage bicycle advocates? Are you crazy? They always expect measurable progress.

So annoying.

As long as the Metro rewards process over results, we will continue to enjoy pony shows that waste the time of academics, waste the time of the select members of the public, exclude the engaged public, ignore the "invisible" public and focus on "innovative" solutions in search of a problem.
