The meeting night will always suck for some people, as will the location. The city is big, and the BAC is a citywide organization. Downtown makes sense because there are a lot more transportation options for downtown than a lot of other places. The only drawback I can see would be that it could exclude many observant Jews from participating, with is a concern in a city with such a large Jewish population. We have the same problem in Long Beach with our BAC being made up of a professional racing cyclist, the City Manager, some of his weekend warrior club friends, and others that have "consulting" agendas. Shouldn't BACs be made up of student-cyclists, cruiser moms, LCIs, bike shop owners/managers, traffic engineers and police? It sure would be nice if the BAC was made up of not politicians, but rather cyclists.
