Transition Culver City is hosting Ron Durgin for a two part lecture/workshop entitled 'SmartCycling: Street Skills 101'

The first part will take place on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 1pm - 6pm. Participants will learn the theory of vehicular cycling, the rights and responsibilities of cyclists, and get an understanding of basic maintenance to keep their bike ready to ride.

Part two will be on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 1pm - 7pm (Part one is required prior to taking part two). Participants will put theory into practice and learn some basic bike handling skills along with essential evasive maneuvers on a vacant paved area. The class will then go on a six-mile ride on city streets where students will get constructive feedback on ways to manage the multitude of everyday traffic situations.
