Next time anybody is lucky enough to find themselves in Copenhagen, Denmark, go to Store Kongensgade and/or Bredgade near Nyhavn and Kogens Nytorv. These streets run as a couplet from Kongens Nytorv (King's New Market Square, new over 300 years ago) towards the Østerport station area (which was the location of the "East" gate when the city was still walled.

Getting to the point, these streets were both two-way streets until just after April 9th of 1940...which was when the Germans invaded and created this current traffic pattern during their occupation of Denmark.

See a connection here?

Autobahns? Affordable cars?

Have I Godwinned the thread yet?
