you&#039;re obviously right as HSR in other industrialized nations has led to an epidemic of urban sprawl.  what prevents urban sprawl is providing affordable attractive housing, careers and education in urbanized areas. although I do agree that more money does need to be spent on local transit infrastructure and improvements there also needs to be an affordable, effecient and safe alternative to cars and airplanes for regional transport.  instead of spreading nonsense about sprawl why don&#039;t you spend some time coming up with alternatives.  and while you&#039;re at it figure out why we still use pennies.</description>
