		<description>I vote twice a day to use a sub-par transit system in hopes that, among other things, it will get better, but not everyone has the same resolve (or even capability) to do the same. 

I do agree though that even that gigantic parking structure is less of an eyesore than surface parking everywhere.</description>

		<description>All the more reason not to require a minimum amount of off-street parking (as cities routinely do). If developers are allowed to decide how much parking to build, they will only build enough so that their projects will be marketable.

I do prefer parking garages to surface parking lots. If parking is going to be built, it should at least be built in a way that wastes as little land as possible. Surface parking spreads out a city making it harder to walk, bike and use transit. Structured parking makes it easier to charge drivers for their parking, and sometimes has nice touches like ground-floor retail.</description>
