Be careful what you wish for. Having to conduct an expensive, full-blown EIR to remove a relatively tiny number of parking spaces will have severe negative consequences when the city wants to put in bike lanes, or a bus queue-jumping lane. Sure, there should have been better outreach, but let's not go overboard and lose sight of the fact that those parking spaces aren't owned by the merchants.

This is just so typical traffic engineering in SoCal. Never thinking of a city as a whole system, only streets as a formula and a LOS. Does Burbank even have a planner on staff? And maybe they don't need the tax dollars from these businesses...good to know. What a great way to get rid of their local businesses and encourage big box stores which give nothing back to the community. Is it too much to ask to have someone somewhere in the government to have a glimpse at the big picture, a vision of what a sustainable livable street should look like? I guess so. You know things are messed up in your city when they make the LADOT look progressive! Way to go Burbank.

Oddly enough, I bet they would never imagine to take out Street parking to put a bike lane in.

heck, if Burbank could put a bike lane down victory to the LA river path/Grifith Park you would have one bike lane from Wooland Hills all the way to the LA zoo.
