Brayj, you're absolutely right. Now we need to keep up the pressure and continue to bring more cyclists into the process, so the city government will continue to listen to us. Now we just need to get past the point that they keep saying yes to us, and actually follow through on something for a change.

I think you're looking this wrong pedal power. LAs council does stuff rapidly all the time - for billboard companies and the vested interests looking for pension money.

I think that what happened yesterday was a big step towards making the "bike lobby" a real, powerful, lobbying group in LA.

The council responds to power, and for now cyclists certainly appear to have it.

Welcome to the LA City Council. Capable of raising taxes, persecuting employers, paying off "oppressed" minorities, and passing lots of mind-numbing symbolic resolutions.

Otherwise, they don't do any useful. They disrespect most everyone equally.

STOP voting for them. That includes Eric. He may be better at appearing to pay attention, but he's just smoother.

Bike reforms will eventually come around, once Bratton decides its politically expedient for him to embrace them (another opportunity to condemn his officers...)
