During this 6-hour session students put theory into practice. Participants will learn and perform essential bike handling skills and evasive maneuvers on a vacant paved area. This practice session is followed by a 4 - 6 mile ride on the streets of Santa Monica where instructors will evaluate students on lane position, scanning/signaling, merging/changing lanes, following traffic laws, and general vehicular cycling techniques. Safe and legal cycling habits are encouraged and constructive feedback will be given to all participants. Passing students will receive a certificate of completion from the League of American Bicyclists.
