You know, this may sound kind of crazy but what if there was a super escalator like at City Walk to take fans from Chinatown Station to Dodgers...

That or actually extend the Blue Line in 2 directions. One to Union via 2nd as planned and the other would continue north to Dodgers with the end destination on Sunset and Vermont.

That way there would be a connection of entertainment spanning from The Coliseum/The Galen Center via Staples and LA Live up to Dodgers.

I can't quit the Dodgers as easily as Scotty can. But after the parking fee increase to $15 that Joe points out, I vowed never to drive there again. In fact, the last two/three times I've been to the stadium, I've gotten there either on foot or by bike. It's one of the perks of living two miles away from the place.

I absolutely love the Dodgers, and I absolutely HATE going anywhere near Dodger Stadium. So, I go to see them play at other stadiums, like Anaheim Stadium. I already have my Dodgers/Angeles tickets. Easy access, easy exiting, lower prices. The only time I went last year was when the shuttle buses were running. They were great! I took the Blue Line to the Red Line to the buses. What a dream.

Sorry Dodgers, no bus, no ticket buying. See you in Anaheim!

This just goes to show where the Dodger ownership and management hart is really at. This is an example of how the Dodgers do not care about their fans, the residents in the area, traffic or the people of the city of Los Angeles. All they really care about is the parking revenue. Even if the difficulty and delays the fans must experience keeps them from coming to games. Apparently the parking revenue is more important then if people stay home from games do to the difficult parking conditions.

The city or tax payers should not pay for the Dodger Trolley which was a success for all last season. This is a service that the Dodgers should pay for 100 % or in conjunction with sponsors.

Not only should the Dodgers pay for the Dodger Trolley they should pay for and build a 100% grade separated people mover between Union Station and Dodger Stadium. This is a win win for all involved. It will not only make getting to the Stadium faster, easier and more convenient, it will also increase attendance and make the Stadium more leasable for special events and concerts.

It is time that the Dodgers help foot the bill for all of the city services that are provided to them and they need to pay for the Dodger Trolley short term and build a people mover long term. If they are unwilling to help their fans and the city, the city should operate the Dodger Trolley, build the people mover and assess the Dodgers for all cost.

As I've said before, the traffic jam on Sunset and the ~1 hour time to go the two miles from Union Station to Dodger Stadium was enough to turn me off from ever trying the Dodger Trolley again with its current route. . . But this talk of a better route that avoids the Sunset traffic and comes in the east gate definitely inspires some hope.

The 25 cent parking surcharge sounds like a great idea to me, and most drivers wouldn't even notice. . . that is except for the fact that they would now need to make change. . . hmmm.

I still remember before the Gold Line opened one Dodge official was quoted in the Downtown News chatting up the idea of the club building a monorail link of the stadium with Chinatown station.

The Dodges will pony up the money only if they have to. Maybe the blogbnation should organize a protest on opening day. Some media attention might force the Dodgers to rethink their stance.
