If you live behind the Orange Curtain, Costa Mesa's Critical Mass has been growing over the last year. It now regularly features anywhere from 40-90 people. In addition it has dedicated itself to a non-confrontational group attitude. The ride never blocks the full roadway, and only "corks" or runs red lights when less than half the group is left to come through the light. Finally, the ride actually reached out to the police in Costa Mesa and Santa Ana, and has gotten lines of communication open. Its a casual fun vibe.
Look it up by Googling "Costa Mesa Critical Mass" and clicking on its Myspace page. There you will find a map an info. Just a heads up though, the map says meet at 6:00pm but the ride really gets started around 7:00pm.
