Boxer is on a all out assault on private industry.
Her bills have turned Ca.into a over regulated mess.
We surely don't want her here.

That was a different amendment by Sens. Murray and Feinstein that failed yesterday. It failed on a point of order to waive budget rules that needed 60 votes to pass. It got 58. It attracted a few Rs, and Landrieu was the only Dem no vote. A few Ds didn't vote/were't there (Kennedy, etc.).

From CNN.com http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/04/stimulus/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

" The vote was on adding $24 billion in infrastructure spending on things like highways, mass transit and improvements to water and sewer systems. Had the amendment passed, the Senate's version of the economic stimulus package would have topped $900 billion.

The procedural vote that would have allowed the Senate to waive the budget rules and move forward on the amendment failed.

Democrats needed just two more votes to proceed on the amendment. The provision failed, with a vote of 58 in favor and 39 opposed. A three-fifths majority was required on the motion."

Is this the same amendment? Seems like it. Looks like additional funding for transit is dead.
