This is a hurdle that a lot of environmental justice people have not yet gotten over. It took me a couple of years of reading and research coupled with personal experience to reach that conclusion - but it is an important one. We cannot continue to model our lifestyle around a 1930's ideal of "Happy Motoring" and ever hope to reduce the toxic after-effects of this lifestyle. Something has got to give, and the motoring should be it. "Once you’ve done those two things, you’re well on your way to the third thing which is, having casual conversations with people about what you’re doing. Don’t accost people, but let them know and encourage them to join you." Angela I don't do two. but I do one and this one. I've encouraged lots of people to at least try public transit and to use it at least during drinking nights!!!I'm with my alt transit the way I am with my no harm vegetarianism, show people by example and they will want to follow you because you do a thing that people try to paint as annoying in a nonannoying way.
