Ugh. I wish the purple line extension were "ready to go". Most things on that list are just bridge/road widenings and repavements. In terms of "green" transit, I saw the Expo line acceleration and a mention of expanding the bike path along the L.A. River. . . but that's pretty much it. I wonder if the Expo acceleration was referring to expo phase 2 or phase 1? If it were phase 2, that would be something to talk about, since these are projects that are supposed to be able to be finished in 2010 with federal stimulus. . . but I expect it's phase 1, which is no big deal since that was already scheduled to be completed in 2010 without federal money.

Oh well.

Aw! Damien, thanks for bringing up 4th Street. That worthy lady, awaiting her repavement salvation.

Obama? Santa? LaBonge? Mayor? B.O.S.S.? Anyone???

It surely would make for some excellent GREEN PR for them to take on the idea of a "bikeway" or a "bicycle boulevard"....not just for 4th Street but for a whole host of excellent candidates across town.

An interconnected network of bikeways, lanes, paths, blvds, sharrows, signage and the like seems like a cost effective no brainer for the City of Los Angeles.

well, hey. Live the Dream!
