  • Regarding “What’s Scarier? Biking on the Freeway or Crossing the Street”: I wonder what will happen when LA cops on bikes start getting injured by automobiles. Perhaps that will focus their attention in protecting civilians who are bicyclists and pedestrians?

  • From what I have heard, LA cops on bikes get enough shit from fellow cops to put a permanent chip on their shoulders. The guys in the Bicycle Control Unit of the LAPD are worthy of some well deserved respect, in my opinion. They do better, on the ground, police patrolling than dudes stuck in cars and they are aren’t able to engage in the sort of reckless driving that most cops use to show how important they are.

  • @ubrayj02: This is good to know! Also, I’m not having very much luck finding more information and stories about the Bicycle Control Unit of LAPD. Any links that you recommend?
