Hah! He is trying to weasel a way for 'Merica to keep growing its energy use (which has been what drove our constantly expanding economy for so long). Unfortunately, the gig is up! He' talking about all of this meta level crap, but the reality is that the way we occupy the landscape is now a non-starter. It simply does not work without cheap energy. Why is the environmental community such a bunch of suckers?
