Don't get me wrong I'm totally for streetcars, but in Seattle we have a problem. The mayor and city were in such a hurry to put in a streetcar that they put the tracks on the right hand side of the road on popular bike route into downtown. Now we have cyclist getting their wheels caught in the tracks while riding through downtown traffic. If these tracks were down the center of the road they would probably be safer for cyclists.

Thanks, Ron, for the writeup. I posted a few <a href="http://lavisions.blogspot.com/2008/05/streetcar-workshop.html" rel="nofollow">images</a> to get us more in the mood for LA streetcars.

Sounds like it was a very interesting event.

The Market Street Streetcars between the Castro and Fisherman's Wharf certainly bring even more charm to San Francisco.
