		<description>This is just what the LACBC ought to be doing - building a base of donors from the cycling public and non-governmental funds. They&#039;ll be able to lobby and advocate without having to be constantly tied down to executing government contracts for bikeways planning, and worrying about maintaining relationships with bureaucrats.

With a good financial base, they can start forming alliances with politicians - and then the fun will really start. They&#039;ll be able to work around the pencil pushers.

I hope they&#039;ve got someone working on legislation they&#039;d like to see in place in the next couple of years. You know, strategic political stuff that will position their allies to benefit from pro-bicycle changes.</description>
