		<description>This is very much a corollary to efforts to challenge entrenched automobile entitlements. The book City For Sale by Chester Hartman recounts how San Francisco&#039;s efforts to get downtown developers to pony up for transit funding and expansion was sidelined because so many of SF&#039;s politicians were bankrolled by the development industry. I hope LA has more success but I wonder how this will square with the mayor&#039;s, shall we say, &lt;i&gt;enthusiastic&lt;/i&gt; stoking of the growth machine.</description>
