It appears that individuals driving on the Westside of LA, who have to have the latest "it" car are going a scale smaller. I'm not convinced LA should continue its free parking for hybrids, even though I have a Prius. The incentive people may have needed at first for free parking is already given to drivers at the pump. Perhaps owners of huge SUV's should be given a disincentive and pay more for parking citations because they take up twice as much space as a Mini-Cooper.
